Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup (138g) granulated sugar
  • 6 Tbsp (39g) Dutch process cocoa powder*
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 1/2 cups (830ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan whisk together sugar, cocoa powder and cornstarch.
  2. Pour in milk then whisk until well blended.
  3. Bring to a light boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer about 10 - 15 seconds stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir in cream and vanilla. Let cool a bit before serving.
  6. Serve with whipped cream or marshmallows on top if desired.
